Leslie Edward Claypool is an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer, writer, director and actor. He is best known as the founder, lead singer, bassist, lead musician, and sole member of the American funk metal band Primus. His bass style is known for his combination of percussion, flamenco, whammy flapping and flapping. Claypool has also produced and designed his own solo albums from his own studio, Rancho Relaxo. In 2006, a movie, Electric Apricot, written and directed by Claypool, was released, along with his first novel South of the Pumphouse. He has written and performed theme songs for the adult animated series Robot Chicken and South Park.
