The Daughter of the Sun Instagram account run by Amy Woodruff, better known to many as “Naked Yoga Breastfeeding Mom,” has been shut down.
Fans of the viral star are not happy about it, either.

Amy Woodruff became a viral star back in 2011 after she posted a photo of herself doing yoga while naked and breastfeeding, on her blog.
But nobody knew much about the woman behind Daughter of the Sun until she gave a recent interview to BabyCenter about “where she is now.”
Since that update was published back on August 6, Woodruff’s “simple” life in Hawaii has been interrupted by a firestorm of online commentary.
New readers flocked to Woodruff’s blog and Instagram account, and Woodruff believes that some of them were unhappy with what they saw there.
Moreover, they were coming to her sites with preconceived notions, rather than out of shared interests. Her account was abruptly disabled on Thursday.
The Huffington Post reached out to Instagram to find out why Woodruff’s account was shut down, and was provided with the following statement:
“Instagram has a clear set of guidelines that make it clear what is and isn’t allowed.”
“While we cannot comment on individual accounts, we followed our usual protocol on this occasion and took action on content that broke our community guidelines.”
“We encourage people who come across content that makes them uncomfortable to report it to us using the built-in reporting tools next to every photo or video on Instagram.”
The site’s community standards indicate that nudity is grounds for removal, but not breastfeeding photos, so it’s still unclear what led to the ban.
Woodruff says she is aware of the rules and none of the photos violated them.
Now, over 600 Instagram users are rallying to have her feed reinstated, publishing images in protest of the ban, with the hashtag #savedaughterofthesun.
Agustin White, Woodruff’s partner who actually took the original breastfeeding photo, has a response to these events as well. He said in a statement:
“Instagram censoring Daughter of Sun’s images is a joke to me. How any of her images could even be considered pornographic is beyond me.”
“Hopefully this creates a healthy dialogue and helps to start opening peoples’ eyes to how disconnected from mother nature we have become.”
“The way I see it, this is simply a controversy about how comfortable one is with [the] human body.”
