It’s only been two weeks since Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill broke up, but now it seems the hip hop power couple may be struggling to keep their distance from one another.
Yes, it seems these two are either back together, or they’re enjoying the most amicable breakup since Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow called it quits.
According to the less-than-reliable Media TakeOut, Nicki and Meek are already back at it, and they’re making little effort to hide their rekindled romance from fans.
“I don’t think they ever even broke up. Nicki was in the studio all last week and she was texting with [Meek]. He even came by and picked her up,” a source tells the website.
“I don’t know – it’s probably all just [publicity]. I don’t think they ever broke up."
That last part seems unlikely, as Nicki took to Instagram earlier this month to explicitly confirm that the rumors of her breakup with meek were true:
“To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon," she wrote on January 5.
Shortly thereafter, both parties reaffirmed their single status by taking petty shots at one another on social media.
There were even rumors about Nicki getting back together with Safaree Samuels, whom she had previously dated for 11 years.
(In fairness, however, it now seems that those rumors were started by Safaree himself.)
But sources claim that Nicki still cares deeply for Meek, and soon after the breakup, she became deeply concerned by his behavior:
“Nicki’s really worried about Meek because since the split he’s been doing nothing but turning up and partying in the club with his boys, and posting these belligerent videos on social media,” a source recently told us EXCLUSIVELY.
“Meek isn’t even a drinker like that and Nicki fears that if he keeps this up he’s going to do something stupid.”
In a sense, this rapid reconciliation is surprising, as Meek and Nicki’s split seemed to be less than friendly.
However, from the start, many fans predicted that this split wouldn’t last very long.
After all, the alleged reasons for Nicki and Meek’s breakup made it sound as though they split over several minor issues, not one major one (such as infidelity).
As soon as media outlets began reporting that the rappers parted ways following a brief spat during an island vacation, many began anticipating news of a reconciliation.
Looks like Drake may have to put his "told ya so" diss track on hold for the time being.
